5 Buzz Tips from Google

John Costigan, Google’s Software Engineer, just posted five tips about Google Buzz.

  1. Format your posts.
  2. View a summary of your own Buzz activity at www.google.com/dashboard.
  3. Use an @reply to send a post directly to someone’s inbox.
  4. Try keyboard shortcuts to fly through buzz.
  5. Mute posts so they don’t get sent to your inbox.

Nice tips! :)

bit.ly Announces j.mp

jmp-logoNow you can save more characters in your tweet. bit.ly just announced j.mp, two less characters than bit.ly. It powered by the bit.ly platform.

According to it’s blog:

j.mp has the same short URLs, metrics, history, user accounts (you’ll have to login again, but your bit.ly accounts will carry over), and customization you’ve come to enjoy on bit.ly, all on a short, memorable domain. In fact, any bit.ly URL also works as a j.mp URL.

WordPress 2.7

mcn-wp27

WordPress 2.7 is here. Yesterday, I already upgraded this blog to 2.7.

Like usually, the upgrading process is easy because of plugin Wordpress Automatic Upgrade. Maybe this is the last time I using the plugin. Why? Is it becoming worst? Absolutely not.

Beside the new interface, WordPress 2.7 come with some new great tools like the ability to upgrade our blog with a single click, the ability to reply to comments from your dashboard, the ability to install any plugin directly from WordPress.org with a single click, and sticky posts. I like them all.

The one thing I don’t like from WordPress 2.7 is the location of navigation menu. At the previous version, it located at the top. Now they moved it on the left side. I think better they keep it at the top.

Hard alcohol and liqueurs manufacturers now can be happy because Google will permit the advertisement of hard alcohol and liqueurs that target the U.S. Google announces it on their Inside AdWords blog.

However, advertisers must promote the information about hard alcohol and liqueurs that their websites contain, such as recipes and brand messages. Ads that directly promote the sale of hard alcohol and liqueurs are still not permissible through Google’s program. But advertisements for beer may directly promote its sale.
